The jail forensic services team consists of the following full-time staff: a psychiatric nurse, a social worker, an assistant social worker as well as a part-time psychiatrist.

The service has a two-fold mission:

  1. to evaluate potentially suicidal/homicidal inmates at the request of jail staff, making treatment recommendations as appropriate; and
  2. to meet the needs of mentally ill inmates through the provision of crisis services upon their request.
