Searching for some general historical information about Arcadia, NY. My ancestor, SIMON CANE and wife, ELLEN MESCEL, lived there in 1860 and listed his occupation as day laborer. He was an Irish immigrant with a fairly large family. Was there a large population of Irish in this area? What kind of work would he have been doing? Thanks for any help.

I am looking for any type of information and pictures on Bailey, Baker family lines. Jonathan Bailey with his wife Mehitable moved his family to Wayne County, when I do not know. I am from his son Ira Bailey line. Ira Bailey married Elizabeth last name unknown, Ira Bailey's son Orville E. Bailey married Martha M. Baker (her father is John A. Baker). Orville and Martha Baker Bailey moved to Michigan with their son Willis Bailey who is my great grandfather. Martha Baker's sister Julia Baker later married my other gggrandfather Stephen Ballard after the death of his wife Rosa Jane Smith Ballard (Rosa is my gggrandmother, she died after child birth). Stephen and Julia Baker Ballard had a son. As far as I know that Ira Bailey's daughters Sophronia Bailey married Walter Trimble, Sarah Bailey married James Cosgrove, and his son Jonathan C. Bailey married Harriet. John A. Baker was married to Martha unknown his father was Elnathan or Ellathan Baker he was married to Rachel "Unknown" Baker. I was told that Willis Bailey used to make visits to Walworth, Williamson or Sodus, Wayne County, New York at times. Any information on these families and their descendents would be appreciated, I am willing to share what I have.

They are Pearl Eugenia Fidler (Lemunyan), Alice Luella Fidler (Person) and Elsie Catherine Fidler. They were born in Ontario about 1880, 1882 and 1892 respectively. They were the children of Charles S. and Lillie R. Fidler also of Ontario, NY. The Lemunyans apparently lived in Columbia, NY in the 1910's and 1920's. Any information would be appreciated.
