New and Beginning Farmer

Program support for new and beginning farmers is still developing. Cornell Cooperative Extension of Wayne County http://blogs.cce.cornell.edu/wayne/ has many resources available in the Agricultural Business Development Center. CCE of Wayne County can be reached at (315) 331-8415.

In the spring of 2004, Wayne County hosted a Farm Transfer workshop with NY Farm Link. Workshop PR FINAL 02-12-04

The NY Farm Link Program provides networking, consulting, and educational support for farm transfers. http://www.newyorkfarmlink.org/ (1-800-547-3276).

The Wayne County Agricultural Microenterprise program can also provide business planning and below-market rate loans for new and beginning farmers. (link to ag development-micro page.
