back to FC Home Ice/Cold Water Rescue – Technician Level

This course provides an advanced level ice rescue training including self-rescue, shore based ice rescue techniques, and go ice rescue techniques. This is a hands-on training program which includes a significant amount of on ice time for skill practice. It also addresses the effects of cold water on victims, ice rescue techniques, off shore techniques and ice rescue equipment. Course will include several scenario based ice rescue exercises.

Sodus Point Fire Department Please call my office at 946-5640 with the number of personnel interested from your department before you complete the registration form and send payment.

Registration: Complete the New York State Registration Residential, and submit it to the NYS Fire Academy. The course will take place in Wayne County, so cross out “Fire Academy” and write in Wayne County. The NYS Fire Academy will process all registrations. Do not register with Wayne County. Class size is limited to Twenty (20) students. A registration fee of $25 for in-state students is required.
